Waldemar Gromolak – a virtuoso of classical guitar, well known highly appreciated soloist and a chamber music performer – has graduated from the Hochschule für Music in Cologne (Germany). He was promoted by such famous guitarists and teachers as prof. Roberto Aussel and Hubert Käppel, Marek Zieliński and Danuta Pietrzak. W.Gromolak has won many guitar competitions e.g. in Cologne, Weimar, Volos and Kraków.

His artistic connections with outstanding Polish conductors, e.g. with Antoni Wit and Wojciech Czepiel, has given him the opportunity of recording the famous ‘Concierto de Aranjuez’ by Joaquin Rodrigo for Polish TV. This significant concert was broadcasted as the New Years’ Concert of National Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra.

‘Concierto de Aranjuez’ was also recorded on the CD with Artur Rubinstein Symphony Orchestra and Wojciech Czepiel as a conductor. It happened to be the first Polish guitar recording which was given the nomination to prestigious Fryderyk Music Award.

Waldemar Gromolak played also with Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra.
He is the first Polish guitarist who has managed to record the most famous guitar concerts by J.Rodrigo.

Waldemar Gromolak gives concerts as a chamber music performer with remarkable Polish musicians – the flute-player Jadwiga Kotnowska and the cello-player Adam Klocek. Waldemar Gromolak’s recitals at the significant festivals in Cologne, Esztergom (Hungary), Mikulov (Czech Republic), Volos (Greece), Lancut, Tychy, Kraków or Kazimierz Dolny (Poland) are the eminent evidence of his outstanding class as a guitarist.

Despiting the young age, W.Gromolak is also a highly appreciated pedagogic. He has given lectures at the International Music Courses in Kudowa Zdrój (Poland) and even has given the master classes at Music Conservatory in Beirut (Lebanon). He is a lecturer at the High Music School and secondary National Music School in Wroclaw.

Waldemar Gromolak was a holder of a scholarship of the National Foundation for Remarkably Talented Children for five times. In 1998 the Municipality of Oleśnica has honoured him with the ‘Oleśnica Award’ for the cultural promotion of his home town Oleśnica.
After having obtained the musical Fryderyk award W.Gromolak has become the member of the Polish Phonograph Academy.
